It might be another 3 months before I post again, but I thought what the hell, might as well play around.........

First.  I leave in 2 days for Florida w/the parental units and my sister.  Looking forward to it since we all haven't done something like this in awhile, but it still kind of sours the deal that I can't bring Nat along with me.....

Second.  Golf - Golf is up and running.  I've played 4 consecutive weeks, 9 holes each.  I haven't broke 50 yet, but I'm getting more used to that 2nd shot approach to get it on the green and possibly 2-putt.

Third.  The job - a little over 3 mos and it's going great.  My whiteboard is full of small tasks for me to do, and i'm doing a lot of programmatic stuff as well, which i like.  I'm working on schedules and editing our program plan going over the procedures and processes for what we're going to do over the next 6 years.  There are lots of phases and different responsibilities to assign to different sub-contractor which will all report back to me so I can make one big report.  Anyways, it's fun.  I love the atmosphere of my area and my buildijng.  Very laid back.

Ok, that's a nice little update.  Maybe I'll do more subject oriented rants in other posts......I need to start keeping a list......

If you have not seen this guy on Comedy Central, you are truly missing out. He comes on right after Jon Stewart's 'The Daily Show', which you are also missing out if you haven't seen. So every year at the White House Correspondents Dinner, they open up with a comedian of sorts. Al Franken has even done it before and a Bush impersonator with whom the President did a skit with. However, this one with Steven Colbert pushed more buttons than the Corretta Scott King funeral could ever think of. And not only did the President feel it, but several well-known public figures in the audience as well....Watch the video here. Read the speech

What a freaking shocker!  I'm sure he'll do well, but still..........I was bracing for Kat to be gone.  Of course I'm glad she's not because she is really good (and really hot!).  But I never saw her winning it all.  But now that Taylor and Elliot are the only ones left???  Wow!!  I don't know though, the Soul Patrol is going strong..........He could be our next winner.......

Ok, well, I've been at work almost 2 weeks and it's going great!! The people are cool, but there's no shortage of those weird software people. Just weird!!! But the main person that I work with is really fun to work with even though she's not in my building, she'll be my partner on this project. I'm in a cube that near a main walkway, but at least I'm in it by myself. Most people are doubled up around here elbow to elbow almost and they are still planning on hiring a bunch of people in August. Wow!! I have a large table and a desk in my cube and for some unknown reason they set my computer up on the table. Whatever. Doesn't matter because in about a month or so we're all going to be shifted around. continue )

Well, I've finally got another job and today is my last day at SAIC. We had a big group go out for my going away lunch at Rosie's. Back at the office, most people are gone. Friday afternoon. And I'm burning some things to CDs as well as finishing up my security clearance. It's very quiet and relaxed, however I'm ecstatic that I'm getting out of here. Getting out of the constant uncertainty of your work and not being given any instruction or guidance. To be expected to do things without training or tactful instruction is not a good environment for me. I don't know if Lockheed will be any better, but at least it's not here. I'm excited about learning something new and working on a different project. Being involved in NASA stuff for the past 9 years has definitely gotten old.....

Ok, it's been a while since I've added any entries because I've been playing around with the LJ styles and customizations.  I think I'm going to go with this one for now si maybe I can catch up.  Dang, there are so many different formats to choose from and then a million custom options after that.  Of course not all features are in every style so that made deciding quite interesting........

Stays in Vegas! Well, Nat has decided that for my birthday this year, we are going to Vegas. Sort of a far cry from the Sex Toy Party we are doing for her birthday. Well, it is a ways away and gives us plenty of time to look forward to it. Anyone else that would like to hop on this train (plane) and join us, is more than welcome!! We are staying at The Flamingo and  will be out there Dec. 2nd - 9th.

Well, a couple of weeks before the Marth 8th show, we found out that Sheryl Crow was postponing all concert dates due to her having breast cancer. Apparently she had a lumpectomy performed and is undergoing treatment. I was all set with the tickets in the envelope ready to be mailed back for my refund when a coworker told me it had been rescheduled for June 30th! Woohoo! I am so relieved that we are still going to get to see her. More on her condition/status click here and also visit the Sheryl Crow Website.

After a 1 year hiatus, Nat and I decided to head back down to the Big Easy. Not necessarily because we just HAD to do Mardi Gras again but because we felt it would be nice to go and contribute both physically and financially to the city.  And on top of that, we got matching tatoos!!  Aren't we cute!

Auburn's nickname is the TIGERS. Auburn's battle cry is "WAR EAGLE!"

Through the years, these two Auburn terms have often been used interchangeably and incorrectly. There are hats and T-shirts with Auburn War Eagles on them. Even the news media has been known to refer to an Auburn team as the War Eagles or to an Auburn player as a War Eagle. Read more... )
